We have had the honour of speaking to some of the biggest names in the sport for print and podcast

One of our key areas of interest at Sporticos is football broadcasting. As our users might notice from our news coverage, we are extremely keen to shine a light on the most important developments in football media rights, football live streaming and more.

One part of this work has been conducting exclusive interviews with some of the biggest names in the history of football commentary. Familiar voices who provide the soundtrack to football on TNT Sports, Sky Sports, the BBC and other big broadcasters, have been kind enough to share their insights with us of late.

Interviews with legends of football broadcasting

We have published interviews on our site with such legends as Alan Smith, Darren Fletcher and Clive Tyldesley during the past year.

Once the voice of the FIFA videogame franchise, and a regular on Sky Sports Premier League, Alan Smith has been in the football commentary game for almost three decades since retiring from football. The former Leicester City and Arsenal striker told us, among other things, what it's like to hear yourself echoing out across a university dorm as every student in the place plays FIFA.

Darren Fletcher has become synonymous with the UEFA Champions League on TNT Sports. Alongside the likes of Kevin Keegan, Jermaine Jenas and Glenn Hoddle, Darren Fletcher has commentated on some of the biggest and most iconic moments in European football over the last decade. He told us his story of going from shaking like a leaf in front of the legendary Brian Clough to commentating on Major League Baseball in London, and much more.

Clive Tyldesley has provided the soundtrack to some of the biggest matches in both domestic and international football for several decades. His work for free-to-air UK broadcasters like the BBC and ITV has made him a legend across millions of British households. Clive was kind enough to share his insights on the changes he's seen take place across the industry, as well as a whole lot more.

The Sporticos "Football Stories" Podcast

Another huge part of the work we are doing at Sporticos is our podcast, "Football Stories". The majority of the interviews we do on there are with regular football fans - fan Twitter account moderators, website admins, supporters clubs, and so on.

However, we have had the opportunity to also interview some big-name broadcasters on the podcast. These include the likes of former Manchester City defender and BBC Football pundit Nedum Onouha and football commentary icon Ian Darke.

We encourage you to head over to the podcast, subscribe and listen to the back catalogue! The podcast is completely free and available across all major podcast platforms.

Send us an email and let us know what you think of the podcast, how we can improve and who you think we should interview next, either in print or on the podcast.
