The Man City star said Real Madrid is dream club for every footballer

Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, has recently sparked speculation about his future with the club. In a recent press conference, he did not dismiss the possibility of leaving Manchester City for Real Madrid in the future.

Haaland is currently only midway through his second season with Manchester City. Despite this relatively short tenure, he has already achieved significant success with the team. He has won prestigious titles including the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

The 23-year-old Norwegian international is under contract at Etihad Stadium until June 2027. However, rumors have been circulating that he might leave before then to pursue a different challenge.

Haaland hasn’t ruled out the possibility in future

During a press conference on Tuesday ahead of his team's UCL round of 16 second leg against FC Copenhagen, Haaland addressed these rumors. While he didn't confirm any plans to move to Madrid this summer, he also didn't rule out such a possibility.

Erling Haaland, Manchester City striker, said:

"Real Madrid have been touted as a possible club for you, but do you feel that you have everything here at this club to stay here long term? Everything you need as a player?"

"I am really happy, especially with the people I am surrounded with. The manager, the directors, the board... they are a group of amazing people and I'm really happy, I have to say.

"If I say this now, it's probably going to be a massive headline... Tomorrow you never know what the future brings. But again, I'm happy. You can write this but you will also have to write everything I said right before. I'm happy."

However, it seems unlikely that Haaland will make such a move this summer as Real Madrid are expected to invest heavily in signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The Frenchman looks set to join Madrid on a free transfer but could become the club's highest-paid player ever due to an anticipated huge salary and signing-on fee.

Copenhagen rejected Haaland in 2016 after trials

Haaland's football career so far has seen him play for five different clubs. He started his career at Bryne in Norway before moving onto Molde and then Red Bull Salzburg. His next stop was Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund before joining Manchester City in 2022.

Interestingly enough during Tuesday's press conference, Haaland revealed that FC Copenhagen had rejected him following a trial back in 2016 - an interesting twist given their upcoming match against them in UCL.

While the future remains uncertain for Erling Haaland, his talent and success to date make him a sought-after player in the football world. Whether he stays at Manchester City or moves on to new challenges, fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike will be watching his career with keen interest.
