A comprehensive list of all the broadcasters offering coverage of top leagues in Europe

With the 2022/23 football season well underway, some may be wondering where they can get access to more action. Many of the world's most elite competitions are covered by UK broadcasters, especially the so called "big five" European leagues.

The English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1 have all signed TV deals with various companies in the UK to bring their product to British audiences, and here's where you can see them all.

In order of "size", according to their UEFA co-efficient, here are the five biggest football leagues in Europe and where to watch them from the UK.

*Please note: All of the leagues mentioned below, apart from the EPL, are available to watch via live streaming with bet365. Every match of the season can be accessed through the bet365 website or app. This applies to the big leagues listed below, but also many, many more leagues from across the world. These football live streams are totally legal, reliable and best of all, free, to bet365 users living in the United Kingdom!

Premier League

The Premier League, or EPL as its often referred, is without doubt the most popular football product on the planet. For domestic fans based in England and other parts of the UK, it can be tough to follow their beloved Premier League teams. Due to the "3pm Blackout" (Article 48 of the UEFA Statute), not every EPL game is allowed to be aired on TV in the UK. What's more, the cost involved often leaves a lot of fans out in the cold.

Nonetheless, if you are looking to watch as many Premier League games as possible, here's how you can. You will need access to Sky Sports and BT Sport, who together hold the lion's share of the rights. A subscription to NOW can make this a little easier and more cost effective. Also, you will need to subscribe to Amazon Prime Video to watch the matches which they exclusively offer via live streaming, usually around Christmas time.

La Liga

To get access to every match of the Spanish La Liga season, British fans will need La Liga TV. The league's own dedicated live streaming platform provides coverage of every fixture, as well as highlights, news and other programming. You can get La Liga TV via Premier Sports, recently aquired by Viaplay, or Amazon Prime Video as an add-on. It's a monthly subscription model which you can access via either of those two services.

Elsewhere, free-to-air broadcaster ITV struck a deal this year to show 10 La Liga matches per season for the next three years, meaning fans who don't have access to those platforms can still enjoy some big La Liga games totally free. Check the ITV listings to see when they are next showing a La Liga game on their network.

Serie A

The main broadcaster of the Serie A in the UK is BT Sport. A subscription to BT Sport will bring you tonnes of live action from the Italian top flight. However, there is also a free option for fans of Italian football without a huge budget. The One Football app is making one match per gameweek available totally free. Check out the One Football website to find out which Serie A game they are showing next.

Bundesliga

Fans of the German Bundesliga will need a subscription to Sky Sports to follow their favourite teams from the UK. The traditional pay-TV broadcaster holds the exclusive rights to the league, and typically shows several matches per gameweek. There are unfortunately no free options or other services available for watching the German top flight in Britain.

Ligue 1

It's a similar story for the French Ligue 1. The division which plays host to the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar is available exclusively on BT Sport. Fans will need to subscribe to the pay-TV network to watch any matches, PSG or otherwise.

There are other top-10-ranked (by UEFA) football leagues from Europe available to watch in the UK. For example, the Primeira Liga, Portugal's top division, is available to watch on FreeSports, a free-to-air sister network to Premier Sports. The FreeSports network is available as part of most pay-TV packages from Sky, Virgin, and others, but can also be watched for free via live streaming on its own OTT platform Free Sports Player.

Fans of the Portuguese top flight can enjoy the likes of Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto totally free in the UK with FreeSports. The network also provides coverage of matches from several other competitions.

The Dutch Eredivisie is also available to watch for free in the UK with Mola. The Indonesian live streaming platform is currently free to use in Britain and contains movies, series and crucially Dutch top flight football. It doesn't even require a subscription in the UK.

Don't forget, if you're looking for football live streams, we provide links to totally legal, reliable, high quality, free football live streams of matches from across Europe's biggest leagues. Watch the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus by simply opening an account and following the instructions, no payment necessary.
