The distribution rights cover over 85 territories worldwide, but not regions such as MENA (Middle East & North Africa) and Sub-Saharan Africa

IMG, a global leader in sports, events, media and fashion, has secured an exclusive deal to distribute the Confederation of African Football (CAF)'s international media rights until the end of 2025. This significant agreement covers a wide range of men's and women's competitions and deepens IMG’s relationship with CAF.

A number of high-profile tournaments are included in the deal, including the African Cup of Nations for men in 2023 and 2025, the African Nations Championship for women in 2024, the CAF Champions League matches till 2025, the CAF Confederation Cup 2023/24, and the CAF Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.

Robyn Cox, VP & managing director, Africa, for IMG’s media business, said:

“The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations is the biggest event on the African Continent and one of football’s most watched competitions. We’re looking forward to expanding our partnership with CAF to help unlock greater value from its media rights, grow the competition’s global audiences and enhance fans viewing experience.”

Having recently signed a global sponsorship agreement with CAF through 2025, IMG has strengthened their relationship

This new agreement not only expands IMG's portfolio but also strengthens its relationship with CAF. Recently, IMG became its global sponsorship agency for the same period - till end of year 2025 - further solidifying their partnership.

In addition to distributing media rights, IMG will provide marketing intelligence services to help enhance visibility for these tournaments globally. They will also offer data analysis services that can help improve tournament organization by providing insights into audience preferences and behaviors.

Moreover, they will provide consultancy services to assist with strategic planning around these major sporting events – ensuring they continue to captivate audiences worldwide while also maximizing revenue potential.

This exclusive deal between IMG and CAF is a significant development in the world of international sports media. It promises to bring African football competitions to a wider audience, while also providing valuable services that will help improve the organization and marketing of these events. For sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts, this means more access to high-quality content from some of Africa's most exciting football tournaments.
