United can spoil party for Arsenal in their chase for Premier League title

Manchester United is set to receive a significant boost as three key players may return to the squad for the upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal at Old Trafford. This comes as a much-needed relief for the Red Devils, who have been grappling with multiple injuries in their lineup.

Unfortunately, Manchester United will continue without Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Willy Kambwala for the game against Arsenal. Harry Maguire also remains sidelined due to a muscular problem. Anthony Martial's return seems unlikely despite resuming training last week following his groin operation.

However, there's good news on the horizon as Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford could potentially make their comeback in time for Sunday's match against Mikel Arteta's side.

Bruno Fernandes will key for this fixture

Fernandes was absent from Monday evening’s Crystal Palace match due to a wrist injury. Head coach Erik ten Hag hinted at this during his pre-match press conference when he expressed uncertainty about Fernandes' participation due to this minor issue. However, it is expected that the 29-year-old Portuguese international will be available for selection against Arsenal given his close call with making it into the squad last time around.

Fernandes has had an impressive season so far with 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances including seven goals and two assists in his last eight league outings.

McTominay suffered a knee injury during Man United’s draw with Burnley on April 27th which kept him out of action during their recent game against Palace. However, hopes are high that he'll make a timely return ahead of Sunday’s clash with Arsenal. The Scotland international has had a solid season, scoring 10 goals in 39 appearances.

Marcus Rashford’s return can make things align

Rashford's return is also on the cards after he suffered an injury during the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City. Despite limping off the field and missing three league games since then, Rashford is expected to resume training this week with an aim to make his comeback against Arsenal.

Despite a challenging season that saw him score only eight goals in 40 appearances across all competitions, head coach Ten Hag will be eager to have him back for this weekend's contest.

As it stands, Manchester United are currently eighth in the Premier League table, trailing two points behind sixth-placed Newcastle United. On the other hand, Arsenal leads at the top of table with one point above second-placed Manchester City who still have a game in hand.

Sunday’s clash promises to be an exciting encounter as Manchester United hopes for a triple injury boost that could potentially turn their fortunes around.
