Marcus Rashford has been biggest disappointment for United this season

Manchester United, one of the Premier League's most prestigious clubs, has indicated that they would consider selling their star player Marcus Rashford if he expresses a desire to leave and a substantial offer is made. However, it's important to note that the club is not actively seeking to sell the England international.

Rashford, who is currently 26 years old, has more than four years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford. He signed a new five-year contract with United in July last year which runs until June 2028. This followed what was arguably his most successful scoring season as a professional footballer. The striker recorded an impressive tally of 30 goals in just 56 matches across all competitions.

Despite this season seeing Rashford play 31 times for United in Premier League games and contributing seven goals along with five assists, there have been some concerns about his form compared to previous years.

Rashford subject of big online abuse by fans lately

United’s preference remains clear: they want to keep Marcus Rashford within their ranks and work closely with him to help him regain his top form. The club believes in the potential of this young player who has already shown signs of brilliance in past seasons.

Recently though, Rashford spoke out about “abuse” he has received which might be affecting his performance on the field.

Marcus Rashford, Manchester United forward, said:

“I appreciate your support! It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough,” he posted on social media.

Erik ten Hag insisted support for Rashford

Despite these challenges off-field, Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag expressed confidence last week that Rashford can recapture his best form soon.

Erik ten Hag, Manchester United manager, said:

“I have a lot of sympathy for Rashy. Last year, he had a brilliant season, the best season in his career, 30 goals. This season he didn’t give the performances and then people are very critical. I think we have to back him. Everyone should back him and push him to get back to the levels he was at last year.

“I think he needs support. We all know what he’s capable of. We all have to support but also to push him. He can do better than he is doing this year and we have seen that last year when he was really brilliant.”

While Manchester United would consider selling Marcus Rashford under certain conditions such as receiving a substantial offer and if he wishes to leave himself; their primary focus remains on supporting him through this challenging phase and helping him return back stronger than ever before.

The situation serves as an example of how sports clubs must balance between business considerations like transfer fees against maintaining team morale and performance. For sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts, the potential transfer of Rashford could significantly impact the dynamics of both Manchester United and whichever team he might join in the future.
