UEFA and Hong Kong broadcaster have a long-standing relationship since 2008

Hong Kong's leading pay-TV operator, Now TV, has secured exclusive rights to broadcast the 2024 edition of the UEFA European Championships soccer tournament. The event is set to take place across Germany in June and July.

Now TV will provide live coverage for all 51 games from Euro 2024, which is scheduled between June 14 and July 14. This continues a long-standing tradition as HKT and its parent company PCCW have held European Championships rights in Hong Kong since the tournament's 2008 edition.

Bruce Lam, Owner of Now TV, has said:

“This is the fifth time in a row that Now TV has become the official broadcaster for the UEFA Euros since 2008 … Leveraging our extensive experience in producing and broadcasting large-scale international sports events, we will continue to offer the world’s best sports actions to our audience.”

Now TV have expanded into OTT streaming service

The action-packed matches will be available via a Now TV set-top box or through the mobile app. Additionally, on-demand action will also be presented via the Now TV streaming service. Matches taking place at midday or early afternoon in Germany will fall into primetime Hong Kong slots, making it convenient for local fans to catch their favorite teams live.

Earlier this year, as part of its commitment towards enhancing viewer experience and accessibility, Now TV launched an OTT streaming app as an alternative to its traditional set-top box.

UEFA looking to expand foot in Asian market ahead of Euros

For Euro 2024 (which features a total of 24 teams), media rights deals were unveiled last December not only in Hong Kong but also Indonesia and Vietnam. This indicates an expanding reach of European football championships across Asia.

CAA Eleven serves as UEFA's main sales agent for media rights covering its national team competitions. Their role ensures that sports fans worldwide can enjoy access to these highly anticipated matches.

With this exclusive deal between Now TV and UEFA for broadcasting Euro 2024 matches live from Germany directly into homes across Hong Kong; sports fans are assured they won't miss any moment of this prestigious soccer tournament. This partnership not only reinforces Now TV's position as a leading sports broadcaster but also promises an exciting and engaging viewing experience for all soccer enthusiasts in Hong Kong.
