Paramount+'s coverage will include 33 group-stage matches as well as the knockouts

The Asian Cup, a prestigious continental competition for teams from the Asian Football Confederation, is now fully accessible to viewers in the United States. CBS' streaming platform, Paramount+, has secured coverage of the tournament taking place in Qatar. The likes of Japan, South Korea, Qatar, and Australia are among those competing for the title. As defending champions following their 2019 victory - their first ever - Qatar enters with high expectations.

Paramount+ coverage includes 33 group-stage matches available on its service. These games span each of the six groups participating in this 24-nation tournament. Select games may also be streamed on CBS Sports Golazo Network.

Among some of the notable fixtures during this stage are Iran playing against United Arab Emirates and Australia facing Uzbekistan.

The AFC formed these groups based on April 2023's FIFA World Rankings. The top six teams were spread across four pots ensuring they could not face each other during initial stages which might reduce some excitement but promises volatility nonetheless.

Son Heung-min's South Korea starts the tournament as favorites, making this year's competition nastier than ever

Asian soccer has been continually growing in ability as evidenced by successes from Japan, South Korea, and Australia among others.

Starting January 12th and running through February 10th all these teams will be vying for success in Qatar with all action available live on Paramount+ for audiences within the United States.

This year's favorites include six top-ranked FIFA teams from Asia with Japan leading that list having dominated international competitions since narrowly losing to Croatia in World Cup round of 16 match. Their impressive run includes nine consecutive wins between friendlies and World Cup qualifiers, averaging over four goals per game.

South Korea, led by Son Heung-min, is another strong contender. They reached the knockout stage at the World Cup after finishing ahead of Ghana and Uruguay. South Korea has been on a roll recently with no team scoring against them since El Salvador in June 2023 and they themselves have scored 19 goals in their last five games.

The AFC Asian Cup matches promise to be an exciting tournament for sports fans and betting enthusiasts alike. With Paramount+ providing comprehensive coverage, viewers in the United States can enjoy all the action from this prestigious competition right from their homes.
