The former Liverpool striker has backed Liverpool to win the title this season

Former Liverpool striker, Peter Crouch, has made his prediction for the Premier League title. He believes that Liverpool will clinch the title this season, giving Jurgen Klopp a perfect send-off. However, he also acknowledges Arsenal's impressive comeback into the title race.

Crouch predicts that Liverpool will win the Premier League this season. This would be a fitting farewell for Jurgen Klopp who is set to leave at the end of this campaign. At the start of the season, Crouch had backed Klopp to add a second Premier League title to his impressive trophy haul on Merseyside.

Former Liverpool player, Peter Crouch, said:

‘I said Liverpool [would win the title] at the start of the season and I think plenty of people will say there is a bias there and they’re probably slightly right,’ Crouch told the Hawksbee & Jacobs Show.

‘But Arsenal have played themselves back into the conversation for me. Manchester City will obviously be favourites given the recent history and you would say it’s a two-horse race, but Arsenal have just put themselves right back in the mix now.

‘The amount of games that Arsenal have played where they have just won so convincingly… if they get their injured players back then it’s definitely a three-horse race. But I’m going to stick with Liverpool. I still think they can do it.’

Despite Manchester City riding high off their historic treble last term under Pep Guardiola’s leadership, Crouch remains steadfast in his initial prediction.

Arsenal are real deal this season for PL title race

While he backs Liverpool for victory, Crouch also recognizes Arsenal's resurgence in recent times. The Gunners have embarked on an eight-match winning streak ensuring they went into the international break at top of table with ten games remaining in their campaign.

The upcoming titanic battle between Arsenal and reigning champions Manchester City at Etihad promises to be an exciting watch for football fans worldwide. Meanwhile, Brighton is set to face off against Liverpool at Anfield.

Crouch applauded Arsenal for bouncing back from an immensely challenging winter period and putting themselves right back in contention for the title.

Peter Crouch also revealed the best defender of his career

In addition to making predictions about this year’s Premier League outcome, Crouch also reflected on his own career during a chat this week. He listed several legendary defenders he faced during his playing days but singled out Chelsea great John Terry as 'probably the best of bunch'.

Peter Crouch added:

‘I thought I was a Premier League player at the age of 18 but I was playing in the Championship and I thought, “Yeah, I’m scoring goals at this level, I’ll make Premier League level no worries. Then I came up against Tony Adams and that view changed very quickly. What a defender he was.

‘I think over the years, Sol Campbell gave me a big test because he is so physically strong. But John Terry was probably the best of the bunch, I think.’

This insight provides sports fans with not only predictions about future matches but also some nostalgia from one of England's most recognized strikers.

While Peter Crouch predicts Liverpool to win the Premier League title this season, he also acknowledges Arsenal's impressive comeback. As for his toughest opponent on the field, Chelsea's John Terry takes that accolade. The upcoming matches promise to be thrilling encounters as teams vie for the coveted Premier League title.
