Premier Sports secures UEFA European club football rights in Ireland

The broadcaster will air Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League matches

Viaplay-owned Premier Sports has secured the broadcasting rights for UEFA European club football in the Republic of Ireland. The three-season agreement, set to commence in August 2024, comes in the wake of a successful media rights process conducted by TEAM Marketing on behalf of UEFA.

Premier Sports has successfully acquired premium rights across all major UEFA club competition properties for the 2024-27 seasons. This includes the UEFA Champions League, where Premier Sports will have the first match choice on all platforms on Tuesday nights.

In addition to Tuesday nights, Premier Sports will also have first choice on Wednesday nights and will broadcast the UEFA Champions League final. On top of that, the UEFA Super Cup will also be aired live on Premier Sports.

Beyond live match coverage, Premier Sports will also provide:

  • Highlights of all matches played in the UEFA Champions League on all nights of competition.
  • Access to the UEFA Champions League magazine programme, offering in-depth analysis and behind-the-scenes content.

UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League coverage

Premier Sports has also secured the rights to the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Europa Conference League in the Republic of Ireland. This includes live coverage of the finals in both competitions. Moreover, Premier Sports will have access and responsibility for match coverage for any team from Ireland's Premier Division that qualifies for either UEFA competition.

In addition to live match coverage, Premier Sports will also provide:

  • Highlights from all matches in both competitions.
  • Accompanying magazine programming, offering insights and analysis of the games.

This new agreement solidifies Premier Sports' position as a leading sports broadcaster in the Republic of Ireland.
