The Real Madrid legend told his Instagram followers he will be at Euro 2024

In a surprising turn of events, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has announced that he is coming out of international football retirement.

This decision will be a significant boost for the Euro 2024 hosts. Known for his exceptional skills and decades of experience on the field, Kroos' comeback is expected to strengthen Germany's squad for the upcoming tournament.

Toni Kroos, aged 34, boasts an impressive career both internationally and at club level. He was part of the triumphant German team that clinched the World Cup in 2014 and has earned 106 caps for Die Mannschaft (The Team).

Kroos decided to retire from international football in July 2021 after their defeat by England at Wembley during their Euro 2020 last-16 tie - which marked his last international cap for Germany. However, following discussions with Julian Nagelsmann, the coach of the German national team, he has reversed this decision.

Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos, said on Instagram:

"I'll be playing for Germany again from March. Why? Because I was asked by the coach and I'm up for it."

"I'm sure that much more is possible with the team at the European Championship than most people think right now."

A giant at both club and international level

During his club career with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, Kroos has achieved remarkable success including three Bundesliga titles and three La Liga titles. Additionally, he holds five Champions League winners medals under his belt.

Apart from being part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2014, he also contributed significantly to teams that finished third at the World Cup tournament in 2010 and reached the Euro 2012 semi-finals.

Following this public announcement, Toni Kroos is now eligible to be selected by Coach Nagelsmann for next month's international friendlies against France and the Netherlands. These matches will serve as crucial preparation ahead of Euro 2024.

Germany will face Scotland at Allianz Arena in Munich on Friday, June 14th in the opening match of Euro 2024. With Kroos' return, fans of the German national team and neutrals alike are eager to see what kind of performance Germany will deliver at the upcoming tournament.

Toni Kroos' decision to come out of retirement is a significant development for Germany's national team. His experience and skill will undoubtedly add depth to their midfield, providing them with a much-needed boost ahead of Euro 2024.
