BBC unveils broadcast plans for Women's Six Nations

Public broadcaster schedules TV coverage, live streaming, podcasts and more

The Women's Six Nations League, which is due to start on 25 March, will be broadcasted on BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport, and Linear TV. The TV and Player coverage will be led by Gabby Logan with the series set to begin with Wales vs Ireland (BBC Wales, BBC iPlayer) and England vs Scotland (BBC2, BBC iPlayer). 

Cartin Heledd, Ugo Monye, and Sonja McLaighlan will be presenting key fixtures for the entirety of the tournament while Maggie Alphonsi, Jenny Drummond, Donna Kennedy, Heather Lockhart, Emily Scarratt, Rachel Taylor, Katy Daley-McLean, Sarah Hunter, Sene Naoupu, Rachel Taylor, Philipa Tuttiett, and Sonja McLaughlan will be joining in as reporters and in-studio pundits. 

Rugby Union Weekly podcast episodes will be available on BBC Sounds. The BBC Sport website and the app will house the highlights from every match. The highlights will also be available on the BBC social pages. 

BBC Wales will be covering all of Wales' matches and the commentary will be available on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru. Live coverage will be on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two Wales. BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru will be covering all of Wales' Nations League games while BBC Wales will provide coverage of three Wales games against France (23 April), Italy (29 April), and Ireland (25 April). 

For Scotland, their final three games (vs France, Italy, and Ireland) will be covered by BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer. Ireland's game against France will be covered by BBC Northern Ireland.

The commentary duties rest on Sara Orchard, who will be joined by Heather Lockhart, Brian Moore, Sarah Hunter, and Katy Daley-McLean. The Scrum V podcast will be hosted by Gareth Rhys Owen and will reveal the Women's Six Nations news and opinions. 

For Scotland, Scotland’s final three matches will be shown live on BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer. Iona Ballantyne presents full coverage of France v Scotland (16 April), Scotland v Italy (22 April), and Scotland v Ireland (29 April). In Ireland, Ireland’s game against France (01 April) will be shown live on BBC Northern Ireland.
