The Argentinian coach hasn't been able to bring desired results to club

Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has been given an ultimatum by the club’s board regarding his future at Stamford Bridge. The Argentine coach was brought in with high expectations of rejuvenating the team and leading them back into European competition.

Pochettino arrived at Chelsea with a strong reputation as one of the best coaches for nurturing young talent in football. The board believed he could guide the club back into Europe this season. However, these expectations have not been met as Chelsea struggles to secure a European place due to poor performances from several players.

This disappointing season has sparked speculation that Pochettino may be dismissed if the club fails to reach their targets. Several top managers of top clubs in Europe are reportedly being considered as potential replacements.

Europa League qualification can save season

The board has now reportedly issued an ultimatum to Pochettino - secure Europa League qualification or face dismissal. Despite this pressure, Pochettino recently stated that he would not walk away from his position even if they fail to finish in a European spot.

Chelsea head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, said:

“Of course, because when I arrived here, we already know that we are not going to compete in Europe.

“And I said the project and I said the idea to come here and to build, you know, a squad to be competitive and to try to reach this level. So yes, that is no problem for me.”

Fans already not happy with club’s direction

There is growing discontent among a large section of Chelsea fans who are unhappy with both Mauricio Pochettino and owner Ted Boehly's direction for the club. Many fans believe changes need to be made if they want their beloved Blues back on track and competing at Europe's highest level again.

The remainder of this season will be crucial for Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea Football Club. With an ultimatum hanging over his head, it remains uncertain whether he can turn things around and meet the board's demands or if we'll see another managerial change at Stamford Bridge come summer.
