The Liverpool legend says Manchester City can’t take Ange Postecoglou’s men lightly despite Tottenham’s poor show

Jamie Redknapp, a renowned football pundit, has recently shared his insights regarding the upcoming Premier League match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. This game is one of the three remaining matches before the end of this season's campaign.

Currently, Manchester City, also known as 'the Blues', are in a fierce competition with Arsenal for the coveted Premier League title. To secure their victory and lift the trophy, they need to win all their remaining games. One of these crucial matches will see Pep Guardiola’s side take on Spurs away from home in what will be their penultimate outing of this season.

Redknapp says Spurs won’t consider the Arsenal factor in this game

Redknapp shared his early prediction during an interview with talkSPORT. He focused on one particular aspect that has been mentioned about it - whether Ange Postecoglou’s side would allow Manchester City to win so they don’t end up seeing their North London rivals clinch the league title.

Jamie Redknapp, Liverpool legend, said:

“It is just impossible. Fans might think it can happen, but there is no way. You are going to be live on Sky, you want to perform, you want to show your best.

“What are you going to do? You are not going to go into a tackle. Is the goalkeeper not going to want to save a shot?

“That’s not how it works in football.”

According to Redknapp, it is imperative that Man City do everything within their power to beat Spurs in order to keep their hopes alive for winning the league title.

Spurs themselves in poor position in the table

Spurs currently find themselves seven points behind Aston Villa who are sitting comfortably in fourth place. Both teams are vying for securing Champions League football next season which adds another layer of complexity and competitiveness to this match-up.

After suffering losses against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in their previous three league games, this weekend sees Tottenham Hotspur taking on Burnley at home ahead of Tuesday’s critical match against Manchester City.

As we approach the endgame of this year's Premier League campaign every game counts more than ever before. With stakes high and tensions rising among the teams, fans are eagerly awaiting to see how this season unfolds. The upcoming Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City is sure to be a thrilling encounter that could potentially decide the fate of this year's Premier League title.
