Mason Greenwood’s future is a big mystery for every Man Utd fan

Manchester United's chief, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has recently dropped a significant hint regarding the future of Mason Greenwood. The young striker was sent on loan to Getafe at the start of this season and is widely expected to leave the Red Devils permanently in the summer.

Greenwood has emerged as one of Getafe's best players since his loan move. He has contributed significantly with 10 goals from 21 Premier League games so far this season. Despite his impressive performance, any talk of a return to Erik ten Hag's first-team squad seems unlikely.

Manchester United decided it would be 'most appropriate' for Greenwood to continue his career away from Old Trafford. Although Ratcliffe hasn't commented on whether United's stance on this matter has changed, his reported transfer plans suggest that Greenwood is still expected to leave permanently.

INEOS Chiefs are eyeing Mathys Tel as Greenwood’s answer

Ratcliffe, who also heads INEOS, is reportedly planning a move for Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel. This could be seen as an indicator that Greenwood might not be required next season by Manchester United.

United have already initiated discussions about a potential swoop for Tel according to Sky Germany reports. Despite having a preference to stay at Bayern Munich, Tel seems open-minded about considering the move.

Mathys Tel has earned big praise from Tuchel and Kane

Tel shares similarities with Greenwood; both are right-footed players who pose threats when cutting in from the left flank. At just 18 years old and showing high potential for growth, Tel could potentially serve as an ideal long-term successor for outcasted player - Mason Greenwood. However, only time will tell if such deal can materialize when bidding opens in summer.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel recently described Tel as a 'weapon', further highlighting his potential value and skill set.

Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel, said:

"Mathys has a high impact off the bench. He is a weapon for us at the moment, we know what he can give us. He will also start games this season.

"He is currently showing that he can assist and score goals. We’re taking it step by step with him. He’s on the right track. We’re happy that he’s here and he’s happy about it too."

The future of Mason Greenwood at Manchester United remains uncertain. Despite his impressive performance at Getafe, the club's transfer plans suggest a permanent departure is on the cards. With potential successors like Mathys Tel being considered, it seems that Greenwood's time with the Red Devils may be coming to an end. However, as with all things in football, only time will tell what lies ahead for these promising young players.
