Pochettino hasn’t lived-up to expectations in his first season at club

Chelsea head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, recently addressed the swirling rumours about his future at the club. Despite ongoing speculation, Pochettino remains focused on his role and is committed to leading Chelsea forward.

Pochettino clarified that his previous comments regarding his future at Chelsea were misconstrued, leading to unnecessary speculation. He emphasized that these rumours have not affected him or distracted him from his responsibilities as the team's manager. His call to "stop the stupid rumours" reflects a strong dedication towards achieving results for Chelsea without being sidetracked by media chatter.

Under Pochettino's leadership, Chelsea has shown visible progress compared to earlier in the season. The team is still a "work-in-progress," but there seems to be an emerging identity within the club which fans and players alike can rally behind.

In 47 games under 'Poch,' as he is affectionately known by fans, Chelsea has achieved an average of 1.68 points per match (PPM). This figure is expected to rise if we continue trusting him with time and resources. Among the 34 Premier League games Chelsea have played, they have won 14 games, which isn't up to Chelsea's usual standards.

One year remaining on Pochettino’s contract

Addressing questions about his contractual situation with Chelsea, Pochettino confirmed that he has one year remaining on his contract. He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling this contract unless instructed otherwise by club management.

He made it clear that any decision regarding his future ultimately rests with the club - he will continue in his current role unless someone tells him otherwise.

Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, said:

“Speculation? No, they asked me. We need to put it in context and be clear. They asked me some questions but I never said it is affecting. If I say that, I cannot remember because my English is getting worse and worse [laughs]. I don’t know. I don’t want to lie but I don’t believe I said that.”

“I have one year left on my contract here and if nobody says nothing, then suppose I am going to be here. Only if someone says to me ‘ciao’ because we don’t know. I have one year left on my contract and I am going to be here but enough is about these stupid rumours because you need to ask the club if the club want me to keep going or not. Not to writing that has no sense, you know?”

Chelsea looking for stability for long-term succes

For a top football club like Chelsea aiming for long-term success, stability plays a crucial role. Players need time to adapt to new styles of play; frequent changes in management can disrupt this process and prolong the time it takes for a team to gel and perform optimally.

Pochettino's tenure has brought about a noticeable evolution within Chelsea. Trusting a manager of Pochettino's calibre with time and patience is essential, as the club continues to adapt and evolve under his leadership.

Despite the rumours surrounding his future at Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino remains committed to leading the team forward. His focus on stability, progress, and clear communication underscores his dedication towards steering Chelsea towards long-term success.
