All Arsenal fans have been on edge since the forced substitution of star duo

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has provided updates on the injuries of star players Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Both players were forced off during the team's impressive 6-0 Premier League win over Sheffield United on Monday night.

Saka was withdrawn at half-time in their 6-0 win before Martinelli was substituted in the 64th minute after limping off the pitch. Their respective problems were the only negatives for Arsenal, who absolutely dominated Sheffield United with an awe-inspiring performance.

Martin Odegaard put Arsenal ahead after five minutes before Saka played a crucial role in an own goal by Omar Bogle. Martinelli scored thanks to a deflection and Kai Havertz rifled into the bottom corner before Declan Rice converted from Saka’s cutback for 5-0 at half-time. Ben White added another goal in a much quieter second half.

Arteta played down any concerns of any worrying long-term injury

Despite these concerns, Arteta allayed fears of serious injuries to both players during his post-match interview.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, said:

“Bukayo was feeling sick and wasn’t feeling right so we decided to take him off and bring Fabio in, with Gabi it is just a cut. So, he had a tackle and got a slight cut. We will have to see how he is.”

The Gunners have now won their last seven Premier League matches by an aggregate scoreline of 31-3 and remain contenders for the title alongside Liverpool and Manchester City. Their fantastic form means they now boast both the best attacking and defensive record in this season’s Premier League campaign.

Arteta reflected positively on another eye-catching performance that saw six different goal scorers contribute to their victory over Sheffield United. The talent across Arsenal’s squad was underlined by right-back White smashing into the bottom corner with his weaker left foot.

Matches defining the Premier League title race await Arsenal

Arteta made a strategic decision not to sign a new striker during January transfer window - a move that appears vindicated given their recent performances.

Next up for Arsenal is a match against Brentford on Saturday. A win in this game will propel them to the top of the Premier League, as Liverpool vs Manchester City is set for Sunday.

The Gunners' current form suggests they have every chance of securing another victory and continuing their impressive run in the league. However, fans will be eagerly awaiting further updates on Saka and Martinelli's fitness ahead of this crucial fixture.
