Prime Video will be back once again to cover all of the action across the EPL's busy festive period

As the holiday season approaches, football fans across the globe are gearing up for a packed schedule of Premier League matches. This tradition, cherished by fans and players alike, brings a unique blend of excitement and anticipation.

This is especially true in the UK, where some fans have the potential to watch Premier League football for free on Amazon Prime Video.

The English football season is renowned for its relentless schedule during the festive period. From late December to early January, fans are treated to an array of fixtures involving all Premier League clubs. This rigorous timetable places significant demands on players and staff but is an integral part of English football culture.

Some big-time Premier League clashes coming in December

Two full matchdays will be aired by Amazon Prime Video in December. The first of those will happen between Tuesday 5th Dec and Thursday 7th Dec and will feature Manchester United vs. Chelsea as its high point.

Then as the festive period really kicks into gear, Amazon will return on Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th Dec), through Thursday 28th Dec, to bring another full schedule of Premier League football to its subscribers. The December 28th London derby between Arsenal and West Ham United stands out among those ten fixtures played over the Christmas period.

How to watch Premier League for FREE on Amazon Prime Video

To watch these Premier League games in December, you will need to sign up for a Prime account. It normally costs £8.99 a month and can be cancelled at any time. That includes the regular perks of Prime, including free delivery on Amazon products, as well as a host of on-demand content on the Prime Video streaming platform. During this time of year, it also makes those 20 Premier League matches available during December.

What's more, there are regular weekly or monthly free trials available. If you've never used Prime before, you are certain to be eligible for one. However, even those who have done so may find they are entitled to one. Check your account on the Amazon website to see if you can get a Prime Video free trial.

Assuming you get a free trial, be sure to sign up a day or so before the fixture schedule begins so you can take advantage of free Premier League football.

UEFA Champions League now available on Amazon

For those interested in Champions League action as well, it's now available via Discovery+ Premium at £29.99 a month, in addition to your Amazon Prime subscription.

Fans can pay that extra cost to get access to the Discovery+ Premium live streaming platform, which carries all TNT Sports channels, the exclusive home of all UEFA competitions in the UK, including the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

Furthermore, Amazon Prime Video will have UEFA Champions League games of its own starting next season after they struck a deal with Europe's governing body to show 20 matches per season, one per game week on their Prime Video platform between the 2024/25 season and the 2026/27 season.

However, for now, fans will need TNT Sports on Discovery+ to watch UEFA Champions League football on Prime Video.
