The Blues have huge task to tackle financial fairplay tight rules

Chelsea Football Club, one of the most prominent names in English football, is reportedly planning a series of player sales this summer. The move comes as an attempt to balance their books following a period of significant spending that has led to substantial losses.

The Blues' financial records reveal a staggering loss of £90 million. This figure raises concerns regarding the club's adherence to Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. While FFP regulations are more complex than simply tallying losses, clubs are only permitted adjustable losses of £105 million over three years on a rolling basis. Regardless of how it's viewed, Chelsea needs an influx of cash this summer.

Todd Boehly, Chelsea FC owner, appears to have already devised a plan for financial recovery. According to reports, Boehly has initiated discussions with Saudi Pro League chief Michael Emenalo about potential player transfers that could bring in substantial revenue.

Lukaku and Kepa are expected to finally exit Chelsea permanently

Among those discussed for transfer is Romelu Lukaku who returned to Chelsea on a £100 million deal but spent just one full season before being loaned out again to AS Roma. Despite his short stint back at Stamford Bridge, Lukaku might fetch an attractive price from Saudi Pro League clubs willing to pay more than European counterparts.

Another name on the list is goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga who was bought by Chelsea for £72 million and is currently on loan with Real Madrid. However, due its existing roster including Thibaut Courtois returning from injury soon; Real Madrid may not be inclined towards paying hefty fees for Kepa’s permanent stay.

Chelsea may have hectic transfer business in summer window

The report suggests that despite these potential high-profile sales; achieving their target revenue through Lukaku and Kepa alone seems unlikely. Chelsea aims to generate as much as £100 million in sales this summer to offset their extravagant spending during Boehly's tenure.

The upcoming summer transfer window promises to be a crucial period for Chelsea FC. The club's financial stability hinges on its ability to execute successful player sales while maintaining a competitive squad. As such, fans of both sports and sports betting should keep an eye on these developments, as they could significantly impact the team’s performance in the next season.
